MODERN HIGH SCHOOL is a Co-educational English Medium High School under the aegis of Modern Educational Society (Govt. Registered) under the Societies Registration Act 1860. The School has classes form Preparatory to XII and is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi.

The School was established in 1985 under the able leadership of Mrs. M. Sarkar. She is also the founder Principal. The school is 36 years young today. The original building (Campus-A) was situated at R. G. Baruah Road, Guwahati-24. The Present school building (Campus B) is situated at Mother Teresa Road, Geetanagar, Guwahati-20. The school is well connected by road and also other means of public transport.

The school strives to impart social and liberal education aimed at the development of the overall personality of a child. The school has come a long way, having provided an ideal platform for the physical, mental, spiritual and emotional growth of the children. The institution believes "Learning is a holistic process and is all pervasive".

The School curriculum is designed to help each child to reach his/her full potential by providing a wide general education, encouraging a community spirit and sense of responsibility.

Our efforts are directed at preparing the students to be disciplined fearless, courageous and well informed human beings in a rapidly changing world. The school endeavours to inculcate in each child the pride of being Indian and a love for the rich cultural heritage of India. Our aim is to inspire our children's respect for the national tradition, values and ideals.

Although academics are given top priority in the curriculum, the all round development of the child is not neglected.

The school has a well qualified and experienced staff who are selected on merit. Regular and intensive supervision is made possible with the appointment of Supervisors etc.

The constant efforts of our well trained and experienced staff is to develop the individual personality of each student and to bring out those qualities which are the best and noblest in them. Scientific and methodical application of teaching helps to develop the child's moral, imagination, concentration and creativeness. In order to have a creative balance of mind and physique the school will provide different apparatus and models, as well as games, physical training etc so that they do not feel any strain or boredom while in school.
